Guided Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy Includes:

Guided Journey Consulting, LLC - A Free 15 Minute Consultation

Free Initial Consultation

The first step is to complete the short Contact form to schedule a free initial assessment phone call to determine whether a psilocybin journey is the right healing path for you. Some people might have conditions that would preclude from taking a journey, such as bipolar disorder treated with lithium, a family history of psychosis or schizophrenia. Others who take anti-depressants would need to gradually wean off before their journeys as SSRIs diminish the efficacy of the psilocin bond with the brain’s serotonin receptors. The fee structure will be discussed and all your questions fully answered. Discounts are provided for veterans and first responders. The next step is the Preparation phase of your Guided Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy session.

Guided Journey Consulting, LLC - Preparation Support

Preparation Support

A 2-3 hour Preparation call on Zoom is scheduled where you are guided through a process to ensure you are mentally, emotionally, and physically ready. This involves discussing various aspects of your life and establishing your intentions for the psilocybin session, which is the Set (mindset) of the Four S’s. The dosing level will be discussed and agreed upon, with most opting between 3 and 6 grams. Several disclosure forms like those required in Oregon are reviewed as well. You can choose to reserve an Airbnb/Vrbo for the Administration session, or opt for the comfortable journey room in my home.  You then order your mushroom product through your choice among the providers in the links below.

Guided Journey Consulting, LLC - Administration Support

Administration Support

Each psilocybin-assisted therapy session takes place in a safe and supportive environment where you can experience psilocybin free of distractions. The Setting will be properly prepared before you arrive. The forms discussed in Preparation are signed and intentions are reviewed again. The agreed upon dose is split in half and then you mix the 1st half in a tea with a little lemon juice activator. You then drink it, get comfortable, put on eye shades if desired while enjoying a therapeutic sound track developed by the John Hopkins research teams. After 45 minutes if feeling comfortable, the 2nd dose is mixed and consumed. Peak is usually reached in 2 to 3 hours with the whole session typically lasting between 4 to 6 hours depending on the chosen dose, which mirrors Oregon guidelines requiring clients taking larger doses to remain in service centers for a full 6 hours. You can then request your transportation pick up.

Guided Journey Consulting, LLC - Integration Support

Integration Support

Several days after your session, an Integration call on Zoom is scheduled to help you make sense of your experience and implement the insights you gained into your daily life. This step is crucial to achieving lasting transformation.

Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy

Guided Journey Consulting, LLC - Guided Psilocybin Assisted Therapy

What is Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy?

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain mushrooms called psilocybe cubensis, which are known for their potential to enhance emotional healing, cognitive flexibility, and personal growth. Psilocybin-assisted therapy combines this powerful healing tool with evidence-based therapeutic practices to guide individuals through a safe and meaningful healing process.

Research shows that psilocybin can help individuals break free from old patterns of thinking or addictions, reduce symptoms of anxiety or depression, and help process trauma during journeys when between 3 to 6 grams are consumed. It is not a quick fix, but rather a tool that can create lasting change when paired with proper preparation and integration.

How Does Psilocybin Work?

How Does Psilocybin Work?

Psilocybin metabolizes into a compound called psilocin in the digestive system. Psilocin’s molecular structure is very similar to serotonin, a neurotransmitter the body naturally produces and easily bonds with the brain’s serotonin receptors. Those now-activated receptors promote the instant generation of dendrites and dendritic spines, which coincidentally, look like tiny mushroom shaped protrusions that grow out of neurons and enhance communication with other neurons, increasing neuroplasticity (connectivity) with previously compartmentalized areas of the brain. This adaptive rewiring of the brain during a journey allows for ego dissolution, prompting greater connections to memories, visions and to the energy frequencies of the earth and universe. Healing occurs with realizations that ingrained, unhealthy patterns of behavior can be changed, combined with added motivations to improve habits, outlooks and relationships with ourselves, others, and our environment.

Why Choose Guided Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy?

Guided Journey Consulting, LLC - Guided Psilocybin Assisted Therapy

Psilocybin is a catalyst for deeper emotional awareness and healing, allowing you to access parts of your consciousness that may be difficult to reach through traditional therapy alone.  Your guide is called a Facilitator whose primary functions are to foster the Four S’s of psilocybin-assisted therapy: Set, Setting, Safety, and Support.  Psychedelics are having a renaissance in popularity for their therapeutic benefits.  Traditional psychedelics such as LSD and DMT (the active ingredient in ayahuasca), or treatments with similar compounds like MDMA (Molly, X or Ecstasy), ketamine, or ibogaine all have been shown to improve mental health.  However, psilocybin mushrooms are preferable to many because they are natural and not chemically created.  They truly are one of Nature’s great healing medicines.

Microdosing psilocybin is growing in popularity also.  Microdosing involves taking .1g to .5g of powdered mushroom capsules daily to enhance mood, focus and creativity but without any intense psychedelic effects of higher dose journeys.

My Why:

After decades of heavy drinking and weight gain, it seemed a worthy investment of time and money to begin the journey back to better health through the natural medicine of psilocybin mushrooms so in 2023 I made the decision to take a ‘trip’ in Oregon which had legalized psychedelic mushroom therapy.  My path to this healing space actually began after watching the CBS News program 60 Minutes which did a deep-dive into the studies conducted by the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelics and Consciousness Research and learning that psilocybin could rewire the brain to reverse addictions and severe anxieties.  The three study participants interviewed before and after treatment all had transformative experiences.

In the summer of ’23, I contacted Andreas Met, an entrepreneur who was featured in an article about a new Service Center in Ashland called Satya Therapeutics that he and his wife Jennifer were preparing to get licensed.  Andreas was also completing the training and licensing to be a Psilocybin-assisted Therapy Facilitator.  I chose Andreas as my Facilitator because of his business background.  The skeptic in me wondered if choosing someone who has a psychology background would be a recruiting opportunity for new clients.  Talk therapy is a valuable resource and the conversations with Andreas were insightful and integral, but I wasn’t looking for ongoing sessions.  The mushrooms do the healing.  The long road trip from Tempe in my RV with my rescue dog to Ashland began that October.

Several weeks before hitting the road, Andreas and I began the Preparation process which delved into various aspects of my life, prompting introspection, journaling, and intention setting. Upon arriving at the service center in Ashland I was warmly greeting in a beautiful and serene setting that exudes healing.  After getting comfortable, a staff member brought the sealed jar of mushroom powder and I mixed it to make a tea with hot water and a lemon juice activator.  I chose the maximum dose permitted, 6.5 grams.  The resulting journey quickly soared and peaked after a few hours, with the come-down taking several more.  Oregon requires clients at that dosing level to remain in the service center for 6 hours.

Upon returning to my RV, I didn’t feel the need to pop the cork on the waiting bottle of wine.  The mushrooms worked their magic and I haven’t had, or even desired, any alcohol since.  It was a very successful journey, and great return on investment!  It also provided the motivation to make dietary changes which enabled me to shed 70 pounds over the following 6 months, and it smoothed out anxiety levels as well.  The whole process was so personally impactful that I decided to embark on a Facilitator Training and Certification program licensed by Oregon.  Much of it was conducted online, but another road trip to Ashland in May, 2024 completed my Certification with a cohort retreat and participation in four practicum sessions with clients going through journeys.  It’s both humbling and rewarding to witness healing.

My business background entails decades of helping to guide people through the complexities of real estate financing with great success, receiving numerous glowing testimonials over the years expressing appreciation for the clear and understandable communication throughout the process.  This last phase of my career continues with helping to guide people toward improving their lives through the power of nature’s healing mushrooms.  Whether you reach out to me through the Contact page below, decide to travel to a service center in Oregon (or in Colorado later in 2025), go to a ketamine clinic, an ayahuasca retreat, begin micro-dosing psilocybin every day, or choose traditional talk therapy with a psychologist or psychiatrist, your mental and physical health is too important to ignore, so PLEASE, take the next step in YOUR healing journey!

Legal:

Psilocybin is not yet legal in Arizona, although legislation with the funding necessary to implement the extensive guidelines and licensing requirements may yet get passed and signed into law in the coming years.  In addition to the states of Oregon and Colorado, there are several US cities that legally permit the cultivation of psilocybe cubensis mushrooms and shipping within the US.  Clients order their dried mushroom product through their choice of a company in one of those cities, links are listed at the bottom of this page.  The Facilitator does not purchase, sell, or cultivate the mushroom product.  Clients mix the product they ordered into teas.  The Facilitator educates clients about the benefits and risks, what to expect through the entire process, discusses and obtains informed consent, and creates the Set and Setting with the proper Safety and Support to achieve the best possible journey and outcome for every client seeking healing.

Training:

Facilitator training for psilocybin services totaled over 160 hours, including 60 hours of online classes, 60 hours participation in a cohort retreat and 40 hours of supervised practicum sessions in Oregon, resulting in Certification in June, 2024 by the Myco-Method Training Program.

Testimonials

“I had the pleasure of connecting with Phil through a mutual friend, and it turned out our paths had crossed more than a decade ago—a realization that immediately put me at ease.

From our first phone call, Phil stood out. We had a relaxed meet-and-greet conversation, where he patiently answered my questions, shared his extensive experience, and explained why he chose to help others through this unique process. He also provided me with links, stories, and reviews of the practice, which helped me feel confident moving forward.

Once I made my decision, Phil scheduled a thorough two-hour consultation. He was upfront and honest, explaining that while I might not get exactly what I wanted, I would likely get what I truly needed. He emphasized that results could vary since this process is different for everyone. He even gave me “homework” to prepare—a mantra, a list of positive intentions, and more—to ensure I was fully engaged in the journey.

I can honestly say I wish I had done this 20 years ago. Since working with Phil, my anxiety, bouts of depression, and phone compulsion have disappeared. This experience has been life-changing, and I’m beyond grateful for Phil’s guidance, honesty, and expertise.
If you’re considering this path, I can’t recommend Phil enough. It’s a journey worth taking.”

I’m happy to recommend Phil and the journey he can assist you with. I was curious about psilocybin began looking into it. A friend shared my interest, and we began looking into places that offered psilocybin experiences. Over time she discovered a friend who had had a very positive experience with Phil. We were thrilled to find we didn’t have to leave the state or country to do it.

I was immediately curious about trying the psilocybin with Phil, but I had some concerns. The other places we investigated were  more clinical settings and seemed safer to me. I had a lot of questions and some fear. What kind of person would I be dealing with? Would I be safe? Since some of my issues are related to unhealthy relationships with men, would I be better off with a female facilitator? How well could he relate to things that might come up during my experience? The fear wasn’t of the psilocybin but of how much I could trust Phil throughout the whole process and experience. Thankfully, Phil creates a very trusting and safe environment. I was able to put my fear aside and I had a very positive experience!

Phil has a way of making you feel comfortable. His procedure provides a thorough explanation of every step of your experience. He has substantial training, a thorough understanding of psilocybin and what the guided experience should entail. His knowledge of research from the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelics, as well as others, demonstrate the amount of time he has devoted to gaining and implementing an understanding of how to provide the best possible experience.
